Alan Simpson recently wrote a letter telling old people that they were greedy, because they had rigged the machinery of government to put in place the grandest wealth transfer machine ever known in the history of man.
Young, typically not wealthy working people have a portion of their paycheck taken away every week to pay for the lifestyles of wealthy old people. Folks driving around in Winnebagos, playing golf. People who complain that the government ought to pay for their prescription drug benefits, but what about the young people? Does the government pay for the healthcare of working class mothers? No! Only old people.
The NY Times recently wrote about a 99 year old who received a $35,000 Medicare reimbursed surgery. Meanwhile, 1 in 4 kids in America is on foodstamps, and 1 and 2 will be on foodstamps before they are 18.
This is a gross injustice.
Alan Simpson is right. The old people in America are the greediest generation.
