Police departments around the country are gearing up, buying drones and drone equipment, and hiring people who know how to operate them, and getting federal money to help them do so.
It is a continuation of a trend started long ago--the militarization of our local police departments.
Pretty soon, you'll look outside, and you'll see a drone hovering over your yard, just sitting there, silently, watching you. You might wave at it. You might give it the finger. Be careful, you might get arrested though! Remember, giving a police office the bird may get you arrested. Same with giving a drone the finger.
And also don't forget that police do not like to be photographed, and I am sure the same rule will probably apply to drones as well. Photograph or videotape that drone hovering over your backyard and you might have your house searched for no reason. You might get arrested. This is common practice throughout the United States. Those who question authority suffer. Those go go along with authority get rewarded. This is why we've become a nation of sell outs.
How do you feel Newsvine? Are you OK with drones in your hood?
