Everyone is worried about the fiscal cliff. I mean, there is a lot of handwringing going on. A lot. So much so that a normal guy can't even hardly believe it. Democrats and Republicans alike are agitated. And you know when both parties get riled about bad things happen. But if the parties would chill out for a while, I think I have an idea that could save us from disaster:

Legalize dope to pay for it all!

Think about the tax revenues. Already marijuana is America's single largest cash crop. A simple 10% across the board sales tax on marijuana sales would yield huge tax revenue. We could probably even get to a balanced budget, and do it all without even having to confront our real problems.

I know what most of you are thinking: Don't speculate about things that will never happen. But two states recently legalized marijuana. Leaders in Central America readily acknowledge that it is impossible to legislate the drug trade out of existence. It is time America come to grips with some reality. Before it is too late.
