A fog of dementia has descended on the land. Our political establishment is all worked up about something that doesn't even exist. Or rather, it is a figment of our own imagination, which we have turned into something real through the lies we've told each other (passed into law through legislation).

We don't even need a debt ceiling. We created the debt ceiling. Without the debt ceiling, there would be no cliff! See what I mean? This thing the political class is all agitated about, which they are going to use to screw us all--it doesn't even exist.
